Spring 2024 Developmental Football - Grades 6th-8th

Welcome

Welcome to the Spring 2024 Developmental Football Camp Registration!

Whether a player intends to play flag, or tackle, football in the fall, , we want to bring all athletes together in the spring with a focus on fundamentals developmental, teamwork, and competition while respecting that football is not the athlete's #1 priority in the spring like it will be in the fall.

Spring is non-padded, non-contact and suitable for all levels of football.  We strongly encourage anyone who plans to play tackle in the fall, is considering tackle, or plans to eventually play for GBN to attend this camp.

Our spring season runs from April 8th until May 19th (6 weeks).  Each week offers three opportunities to develop:

  • Position Days - Monday's from 500-700p
  • Practices - Thursday 530-700p
  • Games - Sunday evenings from 600-800p

POSITION DAYS

Our focus will be on offensive position fundamentals at QB, RB, WR, and OL.  While players can ultimately choose for themselves which position station to attend, the Jr Spartan program will make recommendations for each player based on position they are most likely to play in the fall.  Each station will be overseen by a position coach and the focus will be on individual development.

PRACTICES

Our practice days will be run by Jr Spartan coaches and focus on learning the playbooks and executing as a team.  We will run both offense and defense, and some introduction to special teams.  Each practice will be 90 minutes in length,

GAMES

Every Sunday, we will come together to play in the GBN Stadium to apply learnings from the week in a competitive intra-squad setting.  Teams will be dynamically created based on available players and will be split up evenly across the position groups.

Games will 9-on-9 flag football from the 40 yard line with two games going at a time.  We will have referees for each game and score will be kept.
